A young Student, how cool is that, man!

You have there, the backbone of manual focus lenses, 28, 50, and 135mm! Discuss.

Your submission, required by the end of autumn semester, it to carefully construct a composition of these three fine lenses, fully referencing precedent and then to compile an image with each lens which demonstrates its particular attributes, citing primary influences.

Welcome to the PMFP club! ;wave:

I always remember my mentor telling me I needed nothing more then a 50mm to capture the world around me, a 28mm to capture the bigger picture of the world around me and owning any other lenses is just showing off.

My mentor was Patrick Lichfield, a truly great and very wise man.

How come you have to have a 645 or 110 lens to be more than an associate in the Pentax Manual Focus Primes Club: (K mount) ?

Actually it's a Medium Format (645 or 67) for Fellow you need that as well to get to Dean. It would make more sense to me to have medium format Pentax or 110 for Fellow then medium format and 110 for Dean. :chin: Wouldn't change my ranking but might help spread things a little.
Oh and yes the K mount in the title should go.
I'd did note that if you've got the f1.2 nothing else matters, but for me that's not going to happen :(

Still confused

Is this a club for Pentax manual focus lenses or Pentax manual focus K mount lenses?
if the former, why are m42 optics not included?
If the latter, why are medium and 110 lenses included?

Perhaps it should be called the Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K, M, A, 645, 67 and 110) Club, or just stick to K mount?

This is the problem when someone tries to set rules on a forum where there are no rules! :yippee:

Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K mount)

Pentax manual focus prime bayonet mount fits the club as specified.

Ronnie would you happy with the name change?

Then we can get on with bragging about our lens collections & showing photos from them!

Pentax Manual Focus Primes (K mount)

I don't know where I would fit in as I have the following at the moment.

SMC-K 55mm F1.8
SMC-M 50mm F1.7
Takumar Bayonet 135mm F2.5

Plus I do have these MF primes (non-Pentax)
Tokina 28mm F2.8
Tamron 90mm F2.5 Macro.
Osawa 200mm F4

Does that make me student or Post-grad? :)

Well from today I am now an Associate :yippee: with my first ever K lens, a Pentax K 30mm f2.8, don't know much about it or how it will perform but will have fun trying.

That is one of the 'special' lenses. The FA31 is the rich man's K30.

That's good to know,I did pay a bit more then I wanted, £120? My family live in Vancouver and my cousin spotted it in a little camera store there, texted me a picture and that was that.

Should be flying its way over the Atlantic as we speak.

Hi Pupil,

Your homework this week is to dig out a photo of and another by your M 28mm f3.5.

Welcome to the PMFP club! ;wave:

How about this? Taken today in South Wales.

Hmm, I have K35 f/3.5, M28 f/3.5 and A50 f/1.2, does that make me an Associate Janitor? :D

Hang on tightly, let go lightly!
