Quite simply my favourite prime lens length :)

Lets see piccies, comments, technical stuff, anything you want to say about 85's (even if you hate them!)

I'll start the ball rolling with a couple from one of my FA*85's....

Firstly this one was taken at f7.1 with a Jessops extension tube added (31mm I think):

This one was shot at f1.4 on a lovely Summers evening, and is cropped a bit:

I've shown you mine....

...now show me yours :yippee:

I have a siggie 85/1.4. Not the most recent 'art' badged one, but a thing of beauty nonetheless... I normally use it for taking pics of people, but here's a couple of other randoms from this year:

One of my favourite lenses too. Used a lot as my granddaughter grew up.

That first shot speaks of a cracking lens. The others are pdg too but I really like how that first shot looks. I used to have an 85mm but no more. 77mm isn't far away. Could 77mm join in?

I've no objections....

...I've seen some of your photos before, they would be a welcome addition to any site :)

Yes then I can join in too :) Perhaps the 77 deserves its own thread though?

Some terrific images here.

This thread has motivated me to dig out my FA* 85mm lens. I've had it for 10+years and seldom use it, (don't ask why because I don't know, but I will remedy this now).

I've just taken it into the garden, the flowers are past their best and it's windy, but I've made a start.

It's good to see some really nice images from the 85's and I'm glad Dave has been inspired to use his FA* again :)

Here's another taken with the FA*85 @ f4, 1/800sec, iso160 at Hampton Court (the one in Herefordshire, not the palace  ) 2 years ago...

Maximus by SuperTakumar 85, can't remember if it was the f/1.8 or f/1.9 version

Looks duller than I remember. Must reprocess it with LR 5.6 and give it a little contrast boost :D
