OK I will bite. Our yearly Gas and Electric bill in total is less than £1000. And yes, the heating is on and set at 22c during the cold weather. Today is at 18c. I did convert all our lights to LED, yes there is an initial outlay but worth it in my opinion. On a lighter note we did have what is called a "dead sheep" put in our chimney which stopped all drafts.
I think the gas bill works out at around £900 per year. Electric is another issue. I fitted PV panels around 5 years ago and in the winter bills are around £180, in the summer about £65 to £90. The panels feed around 3600 units into the house each year. This earns around £800 each year. I worked out they will be paid for after 8 to 9 years and I then get the money and free electric power till year 20. And most of the winter heating is by wood burner using waste wood from work sites, or trees I remove for people.
