Follow Focus FAILS on Canon EOS --

I was given a 1990's Canon EOS 1000F with the standard Canon EF Zoom 35-70mm and a Sigma UC Zoom 70-210mm . the EOS is supposed to 'follow focus' on moving subjects so I tried it out in Brentwood on the Sigma lens on a few subjects and all FAILED!
I have a PENTAX MZ-5 which is also supposed to 'Follow Focus' so next test I will try that .
2 Old Ladies not moving at 40 MPH -- FAILED !
